Our Story
Pouch Potato started with a bad gel and a long ride. It ended with a better idea.
It Started on a Bike
Somewhere around mile 30 of a training ride, I choked down my fourth gel of the day and thought: there has to be a better way. My stomach was wrecked, my energy was crashing, and I still had many miles to go.
I'd been training for my first triathlon. I knew the science — carbs, sodium, timing. But the products never matched the reality. Gels tasted like medicine. Bars turned to cement in your mouth. Chews stuck to your teeth.
So I went back to basics. Athletes have been eating potatoes at aid stations forever. They're real food. They work. I just needed to make them portable.

How We Got Here
First batch of salted potatoes made in a home kitchen after a particularly rough ride.
Tested at local triathlons and trail runs. Athletes started asking where they could buy them.
Moved to a commercial kitchen. First three flavors launched: Fully Loaded Baked Potato, Everything Bagel, Sweet Potato Brown Sugar.
Pouch Potato ships nationwide. Thousands of athletes fueling smarter on every kind of course.
